1. Who We Are

Our website address is: https://generatemymemoir.com. We operate a private, secure, automated book generation platform engineered to help individuals document their life stories and preserve family legacies.

2. Information We Collect and Store

We collect and process data strictly necessary to deliver our services, build your secure workspace, and fulfill transactions:

  • Account & Billing Data: When you register or purchase access, we collect your name, email address, and transactional billing information.
  • User-Generated Content: We store the text drafts, historical data, digital files, and photographs you upload directly to our platform to compile and format your book.
  • Technical Log Data: For automated security and platform performance, we track security metrics, including the user’s IP address and browser user agent string, to assist in automated spam and fraud prevention. If you request a password reset, your IP address is dynamically included in the administrative reset verification email.

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell, rent, lease, or share your personal stories, manuscripts, or photographs with third-party advertisers or unrelated service providers. Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Operate, secure, maintain, and provide the functional features of our automated book editing and layout software.
  • Process and format your high-resolution digital PDF proof.
  • Coordinate secure, end-to-end physical manufacturing and delivery with our dedicated print-on-demand fulfillment partner, Lulu, solely when you place a physical print order.

4. Cookies and Analytical Tracking

We utilize standard operational cookies to protect your data, handle secure sessions, and preserve layout preferences:

  • Authentication & Security: If you visit our secure login dashboard, a temporary cookie is initialized to verify if your web browser accepts cookies. This identifier carries zero personal data and is purged the moment you close your browser interface.
  • Session Management: When logging into your secure workspace, we establish specific operational cookies to securely lock in your login verification parameters and screen configuration preferences. Active login cookies persist for two days, while custom screen options are retained for one year. Selecting the “Remember Me” option extends your active login status securely for two weeks. Logging out completely purges all authentication cookies instantly.
  • Analytics & Advertising: We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion tracking to understand how the site is used and measure how our campaigns perform. We also use the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel, the Microsoft/Bing Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag, and the Pinterest tag to measure and optimize our advertising on those platforms. None of these services ever receive your personal stories, manuscripts, or photographs — only standard technical site-interaction data (pages visited, whether a purchase completed, general IP address). For visitors in the European Union, European Economic Area, or United Kingdom, these analytics and advertising cookies do not activate until you give consent through the site’s cookie banner. For California visitors, we provide a visible “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link to opt out of these cookies being used for advertising purposes at any time.
  • External Media & Embeds: Platform assets may occasionally feature embedded elements from verified external services (including the Stripe checkout process). Embedded content from third-party sites behaves in the exact same manner as if the user directly visited that external domain. These services may collect basic technical data, employ tracking cookies, or monitor interaction patterns if you hold an active account with them.

5. Data Protection, Retainment, and Control

Your private stories belong to you. We maintain administrative and electronic protocols to safeguard your records:

  • Media Security: When uploading digital media, photographs, or historical documents to your workspace, our system acts as a secure repository. We advise against uploading image files with embedded location tracking data (EXIF GPS) to ensure complete individual privacy.
  • Data Retainment: For registered platform users, we securely archive the personal profile information provided in the account registration panel indefinitely to preserve workspace continuity. Users retain full structural permission to view, review, download, or delete their profile information at any moment (excepting core system-locked account usernames). System administrators maintain administrative oversight to view or correct technical account metrics to troubleshoot errors.
  • Total Ownership and Deletion: You maintain complete control over your data. You can download your current writing progress or request the absolute deletion of your active account, profile records, and uploaded materials at any time by contacting our desk directly. This does not extend to any residual transaction logs or security tracking numbers we are legally obligated to retain for administrative, regulatory, or merchant compliance purposes.

6. Contact and Compliance Support
